An inventory form may be required for liability purposes. And you will have insurance options that may include "All Risk" covering both the total loss of goods AND damages, and "Total Loss" which covers only complete loss but not damages. Deductibles may apply.
You may have the options of:
- Less Than Container Loads when your shipment is not large enough to fill a container. Your freight will be consolidated with other freight.
- Full Container Loads Shipments of your items only in a shipping container of usually 20ft or 40ft.
Services range from you prepacking and delivering your belongings to the shipping facility and picking them up at the opposite end, to door-to-door full service.
Auto shipping is possible and, of course, is subject to some regulations. The shipping services are usually familiar with the rules and happy to assist you.
