You are required to register your residence if you are staying for any extended period of time, even if it is just a long vacation in Vienna. Each adult will need to fill out a Meldezettel (click to open PDF of form). If you don't know German, download our PDF of the English Guide to the Meldezettel. Sign the Meldezettel, have the landlord sign it, then take it to get a "bestatigung der meldung", your confirmation of registration, from a Weiner Meldeservice office in your district; district in German is "Bezirk".
